Barbecue Pork Ribs

I can occasionally find ribs for about $1.49.

Here is an easy, tasty way to prepare that inexpensive meat!

~5 pounds pork ribs, cut into serving size pieces if desired
barbecue sauce

Place ribs in large pot.

Cover with water and a little salt, bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 90 min. (meat will be tender).

Drain.

Place the boiled ribs in a roasting pan, and smother with barbecue sauce (use your favorite bottled sauce or mix your own).

Cover with foil, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Brush grill grate with oil. Grill ribs for 10 to 20 minutes, or until well browned, basting with sauce and turning frequently.

You can also broil it in your oven!

Optional Barbecue Sauce:

1/2 cup butter

1 medium onion, chopped

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1/2 cup white vinegar

1 cup water

1 cup ketchup

1 cup hickory smoke flavored barbeque sauce

2 T lemon juice

salt and pepper

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Cook the onion and garlic in butter until the onion is tender; remove from heat.

Combine all ingredients in blender for 1 min.

Pour into a saucepan, and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
